After graduating from the University of Maryland in 2008, Colin moved from the east coast to Chicago. He was initially called there by the sirens of opportunity in the business and comedy world. After successfully navigating his way through management roles in the corporate sector (banks, tech startups, etc.) and semi-successfully trudging through the comedy industry, he stumbled upon Demo Duck in 2014. Making the career move to the video production world, his lifelong passion, was exciting and daunting. Finding his footing relatively quickly, he was soon leading projects with international brands located all over the world. In 2017, Colin was handed the reins of the company when he was promoted to Managing Director – talk about imposter syndrome. He is one of those lucky people who absolutely loves what he does and is honored to work with super-smart people at Demo Duck.
In this episode of the Be Real Show, Colin and Travis open up the show discussing Demo Duck and how they help customers. They do a lot of videos in the tech space and healthcare space. The educational component is a big draw for customers; Demo Duck dives deep into the business to write scripts and put together cohesive storyboards. The easiest way to start a video is by making thought leadership videos. People in the audience won’t knock it for being low-quality as long as it’s a valuable opinion. Plus, it will help humanize your company and build a brand. Once you have some more money in the bank, your business should make a video for your home page.
